What is a custom drawer organizer?

A custom drawer organizer is a 3D printed tray with compartments made to the exact outer dimensions of your drawer, desk or shelf – no adapting, no dead space left by off-the-shelf inserts. In the generator you enter width, depth and height, choose 1–8 columns and rows of compartments, corner radius, wall, floor and divider thickness, finger scoops, a label ledge and floor holes. A stacking option adds a 1.6 mm rim and a matching groove underneath so trays sit on each other. Every compartment is at least 12 × 12 mm and 6 mm deep. PETG is the recommended material: it takes knocks and daily use.

What people make with it

  • A kitchen or office drawer: cutlery, pens, cables, batteries, each in its own slot.
  • A workshop: screws, nuts, drill bits and driver bits in stacked, labelled trays.
  • Electronics and sewing: small parts that must not mix.
  • A desk or shelf: one tray sized to the exact gap that was left empty.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a custom drawer organizer cost?

Designing and downloading the model is free and needs no account. When you click "Get a print quote", your 3MF goes through the same BambuStudio slicer as any uploaded file: the price comes from real material use and print time, the minimum is €4 per model, and no VAT is added. Printing takes 1–3 working days; shipping inside the EU starts at €13.90 and pickup in Slovenia is free. The default 120 × 90 × 30 mm PETG tray with six compartments comes to about €9.14 at current rates (65.8 g, 157 min); that is a worked example for that configuration, not a fixed price.

How do I measure my drawer?

Measure the inside width and depth of the drawer and the height to the rim, then subtract 1–2 mm of clearance from each. The values you enter are the outer dimensions of the tray.

Do the trays stack?

Yes, turn on stacking: the tray gets a 1.6 mm rim on top and a matching groove underneath with 0.25 mm clearance. Print one sample before a batch to confirm the fit for your filament.

Which material is best for an organizer?

PETG: it is tough, does not crack on impact and survives the heat in a car or garage. PLA is cheaper and fine for an office; ASA for outdoors.
