Changing plastic type updates both parts to keep them compatible. Colors and specialty finishes come from the same catalog as our quote page.

Choose an opaque light base and a dark code. Reflective, translucent and color-changing finishes are unsuitable for reliable QR contrast.

What is a 3D printed QR code?

A 3D printed QR code is a physical tile whose modules are raised, or set in a second colour flush with the base, so a phone reads it like any printed code – no paper, lamination or sticker. This generator turns a link, Wi-Fi network, text, email or phone number into a watertight 3D model with at least four quiet modules on every side and modules no narrower than 1.2 mm, the safe floor for FDM printing. You check the code in a separate flat preview before printing. Two-colour tiles print in one piece on a Bambu Lab printer with automatic filament changes.

What people make with it

  • A Wi-Fi sign for guests, a holiday flat or a waiting room (the SSID and password live in the code, never in a URL).
  • A table menu or price list in a café, with a 75° desk stand printed alongside.
  • A link to bookings, Google reviews or a web shop on a counter or door.
  • A contact card with a phone number or vCard on a stall or in a workshop.

Frequently asked questions

Will the printed QR code actually scan?

The model keeps every reserved cell, the quiet zone and the minimum module width, and the colour contrast is checked in the generator. You scan the flat preview with your phone before ordering; we scan the printed tile again before it ships.

How much does a printed QR sign cost?

Designing and downloading the model is free and needs no account. When you click "Get a print quote", your 3MF goes through the same BambuStudio slicer as any uploaded file: the price comes from real material use and print time, the minimum is €4 per model, and no VAT is added. Printing takes 1–3 working days; shipping inside the EU starts at €13.90 and pickup in Slovenia is free. A small two-colour 60 × 60 mm PLA tile usually lands in the single-digit euros; the quote shows the exact figure.

Is my Wi-Fi password safe?

The code content stays in your browser tab and in the generated file; it is never written to a URL or to analytics. You can also just download the STL/3MF and print it yourself.

Which file formats can I download?

A colour 3MF with filament assignments for Bambu Studio, STL, OBJ, a ZIP of separate parts, or OpenSCAD. Flush two-colour codes are 3MF/ZIP only, because a single-colour STL would erase the code.
