PLA & PLA Silk+ for personalized gifts
A personalised gift is the easiest "wow" 3D printing can deliver — a name plate, a photo frame in the right colour, a metallic-finish keychain, a small piece of jewellery. We print them in PLA and PLA Silk+ (rose gold, gold, silver) on a Bambu Lab P2S in Slovenia, with most gifts coming in between €4 and €15.

Most of the personalised gifts we print fit in the palm of a hand and weigh under 100 grams: a name on a key, a couple's anniversary date, a child's nickname, a small ornament for a tree. PLA is the right material for this whole category because it captures fine detail beautifully, prints smoothly in any colour, and is by far the most affordable filament we stock. The minimum-order math works perfectly here — at €4 per item even a single keychain is worth printing.
When the gift needs to look more "premium" — a wedding favour, a milestone birthday, a piece of costume jewellery — we switch to PLA Silk+ in Rose Gold, Gold or Silver. The silk family adds a real metallic shimmer that photographs well and gives the recipient that small luxury feel without the weight or cost of metal. Same printer, same speed, same easy customisation — just a different roll on the AMS.
Technical properties
- Density: ~1.24 g/cm³ — light and easy to mail, gifts under 100 g typically fit a small letter envelope.
- Print temperature: Nozzle 200–220°C (Standard PLA), 210–230°C (Silk+), bed 55–65°C. The most forgiving family of filaments.
- Detail & finish: Captures 0.1 mm features cleanly, ideal for small text, embossed names, fine ornaments. Silk+ adds a metallic shimmer that breaks up layer lines.
- Specifics: Plant-based, biodegradable in industrial composters, low odour while printing. Not heat-resistant — keep finished prints out of hot cars.

PLA gift questions
What is the difference between PLA Standard and PLA Silk+?+
PLA Standard is the everyday PLA family — clean solid colours like jade white, black, maroon red, charcoal. PLA Silk+ is a premium upgrade that mixes mica-like additives into the same easy-to-print base, giving Rose Gold, Gold and Silver finishes that genuinely look metallic on the shelf. Silk+ costs slightly more per gram, but for a gift it is usually the version you want — the "wow" on opening is real.
How fast can you print a personalised gift?+
Most personalised gifts are small enough (under 100 g) that we can normally turn them around the same day or next working day, depending on queue. If you need it for a specific date, just write it in the notes when you place the order — we treat birthday and event deadlines as hard deadlines.
Can you customise the text or names on a model?+
Yes. The simplest path: send us the STL/3MF you found (e.g. on MakerWorld or Printables) plus the name or text you want, and we adjust the model before printing. For fully custom designs from scratch — a logo, signature, or a specific photo turned into a 2D outline — we do a small design fee on top of the print, quoted upfront.
Are PLA Silk+ gifts safe for kids and toys?+
PLA itself is plant-based and one of the safest 3D printing plastics. PLA Silk+ adds a non-toxic mica-style pigment for the metallic effect — perfectly fine for decor, ornaments, name tags and jewellery. We avoid recommending any 3D printed plastic for items a baby will chew on, simply because the layered surface is not as easy to fully clean as injection-moulded plastic.
