PLA, PETG and ASA cost per gram — what to expect
The effective cost per gram of 3D printing is not a single number: it decreases as the model gets heavier, because each model carries a fixed €2.50 base fee and an absolute €4.00 minimum, once per model (cart line). For PLA Standard on our Bambu Lab H2C and P2S printers, expect roughly:
- • Under 30 g: €0.17–0.40/g (minimum price kicks in)
- • 50 to 100 g: €0.11–0.14/g (sweet spot for small parts)
- • 200 to 500 g: €0.07–0.10/g (typical mid-size prints)
- • 1 kg and above: about €0.05/g or less (large prints)
PETG HF costs the same as PLA, ASA adds roughly +€0.004/g. Exact numbers for your file land in 30 seconds after upload; the table above shows them at standard bracket weights.

How much does PLA cost per gram?+
PLA Standard costs roughly €0.05–0.14 per gram on our Bambu Lab H2C and P2S printers, depending on the model's weight: about €0.11–0.14/g for small 50 to 100 g parts and €0.05–0.07/g for 500 g to 1 kg prints. The €2.50 base fee and the €4 minimum (both once per model) make very small parts cost more per gram. PETG HF costs the same as PLA, ASA about €0.004/g.
How much does 100g of 3D printing cost?+
In standard PLA, 100 g costs about €11.20. In PETG HF roughly €11.20, in ASA about €11.60. The price includes material, ~3.3 hours of machine time, electricity, and the €2.50 base fee per model. You can get an exact slicer-based price by uploading your STL/3MF.
How much does 50g of 3D printing cost?+
Around €6.85 in PLA, €6.85 in PETG HF, €7.05 in ASA. A 50 g part takes ~1.7 hours to print on our Bambu Lab H2C and P2S printers.
Why does the price not scale linearly with weight?+
Each model (cart line) carries a fixed €2.50 base fee, and the €4 minimum price also applies once per model, not per piece. For very small parts (under ~20 g) the minimum kicks in. Above that, price scales with material weight, print time, and electricity.
